Hi dear Mimolive community members,
I hope you are having a nice day.
I deleted my previous comments and created this new topic upon advice for better results.
Here is list of my issues and wishlist:
1.Why do I always see “start with the show” is not selected error message for virtual camera which does not have this option?
2.Why cannot it capture display when I am using OME like OBS does it perfectly? Why do I have to use OBS to screen capture from Mimolive camera in OME? Why do I have to open two livestreams in the same time to capture OME screen from Mimolive?
3.Why does it show up in OME only in DuckDuckGo browser? Never other browsers?
4.Why cannot it start automatically like OBS does in starting new broadcast instead of creating a laborious new one and even worse reload it every time?
5.Why cannot it have a long sliding scale opening all the way down to bottom to empty space for Audio controls instead of current tiny knobs?
6.Can I flip my background effect video and logo in it. They show reverse to me in OME and to my viewers in YouTube.
Please kindly urgently help.
Best regards,
Thank you for your list of issues. Let me address them one by one:
This is a bug. Thanks for pointing it out. We will fix it in the next release.
2+3) Could you please describe in more detail what your setup looks like, what your project is about, and what you are trying to achieve with your goal?
Unfortunately, we only support getting the list of YouTube live streams you created in the dashboard on the YouTube page. Creating a livestream on YouTube from within mimoLive is not possible.
Maybe it would be a good idea to use a mimoLive Remote Control surface to implement your own user interface the way you want it. Check out this video to create a custom Remote Control: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJrWneCkCw8 To get volume control with a slider, add a custom button and configure it to be a slider.
Super thanks Achim,
I really appreciate your support.
1.Mimolive seems to fail to capture display if its virtual camera is running in that site. I have Mac mini and studio display pro with latest macOS update. Oliver was in it on zoom and I am still waiting for a solution.
2.Can I use same key and url from previous livestream instead of creating a new YouTube broadcast. This is possible in OBS. Same show can be used each time without hassle.
3. Oliver actually created a nice audio control during his zoom call but solution is gone now. I told him I do not want remote control from iPad. Because I watching my YouTube and chats in it so cannot use it for controls there. He agreed and created a solution for me on Mimolive app in my Mac mini.
4. Can I also flip my own picture and background effect and logo for YouTube viewers. They see it reverse.

We can not reproduce this issue. Are you using the Window Capture source?

Yes, you can switch the Live Streaming output to “Custom RTMP Server” and enter the stream key information from YouTube. See Youtube RTMP fallback | mimoLive®

I created it using the mimoLive Remote Control Surface which can be used in your browser. It is saved when you save the document. You can open the Remote Control Surface with this button:
Can I also flip my own picture and background effect and logo for YouTube viewers. They see it reverse.
You can flip the camera, but then, the viewers on OME.tv will see it in reverse as it is being flipped by OME.tv.
The way to do this would be to create one mimoLive document for feeding into the OME.tv site and another one for YouTube. In the YouTube document, you capture the part of the OME.tv site that shows the people talking with you and put it on the left side, then you put your own video on the right side and don’t capture this from the OME.tv browser view.
We’ll gladly show you how to do this in a personal 1-to-1 coaching session which you can purchase here:
Super thanks Oliver. I was using screen capture option. Now after your warning I started to use window capture and stacked layers as first window capture, second main camera, third background video effect. Now it seems working fine. Oh it seems working only before livestreaming. After livestreaming it shows only my side in OME window. So still I have to use OBS.
By the way, in your screenshot above you have an option for safari-OME which I cannot see. Where is it? Maybe this is the solution?
I am willing to pay your zoom meeting for flipping my background for myself in OME and for my viewers in YouTube.
But I am not an enterprise or rich person. I am only a free volunteer to sacrifice my time for humanity. Can you please give me deep discount so I can benefit from your help. Super thanks. Best regards, Rocky
Hi Oliver, super thanks for your kind support. This is a screenshot from my Mimolive livestream yesterday. There is no error message nothing. I had to stop it and use OBS to capture OME window. Do you have all browsers listed as an option in your sources? Where are they?
Sorry for the misunderstanding. This is the stream from mimoLIve? Please make a screenshot of the mimoLive document. I suspect that the capture of the ome window is covered with another layer in the Layer Stack so you don’t see it in the output. You can’t have different videos sent to the virtual camera and to the live stream unless you use the 2 documents to create to different program outputs.
The Layer Stack works like in Photoshop. What is on the bottom is in the background, what is on top is in the foreground. “Placer 2” is covered by “Placer” and “Placer” is covered by “Placer 3”.
Can you please also make a screenshot of the Output Destinations list? Have you selected a source to be streamed to YouTube instead of the Program Out? According to the Layer Stack, what should be sent to the live stream is your OME window capture.
Thanks! I have deleted the second screenshot because it contained your stream key which can be used to stream to your channel.
Since you’re using the Program Output in both the Virtual Camera and the YouTube Streaming, it will show the same thing which is your camera and the background.
As I said, you should create a second document with the layout you want to send to YouTube, either capturing the entire OME Webbrowser view including your flipped camera or a separate side by side layout.
Hi Oliver, I hope you are having a nice day. Please kindly allow me to ask this question regarding my problem:
is there any time frame for a solution to this window capture problem?
Best regards,
Rocky
@Rocky Like my brother demonstrated, you can capture the OME window with mimoLive without any issues. Since your layer stack includes Placer layers that display a source in “fullscreen,” and the screenshot you provided from YouTube only shows your face camera, it seems reasonable to think there might be a misunderstanding of what you’re trying to achieve.
My guess is that you’re aiming for a split screen with two video sources (you and OME) rather than just one camera. You might also be under the impression that the third column belongs to the output of your livestream, but that’s only a preview for the currently selected layer in the layer stack (highlighted by the yellow band). What’s actually going out to YouTube is visible in the fourth column, labeled “Program Out.”
If you want a split screen, you’ll need to add a “Split Screen” layer to your layer stack instead of using the “Placer” layers.
