What am I missing with the new Box Layer

I’m trying to figure out what I am missing with the new Box Layer. What does it offer that could’t already be done, and what does it do better than any existing layer?

@Dsal22 The long term goal is to provide layers with primitives that can be combined to create new, more complex graphical elements. The Box layer is a baby step.
