What does it do if I protect the timeline and all audio and video tracks with the lock symbol?
I don’t understand this function, because I can still change the tracks afterwards. But I assumed that this would protect the tracks against unwanted changes.
Can someone explain this to me?

Hi, Kubalibre – I don’t use the “Locked” function when I create slides, but what happens when you do lock an image on a slide is that you can’t apply any edits on it from the “Image” options. It’s the same as when you are in the Image menu and click on the little lock to the right – all effects options are grayed out. You also CAN’T MOVE the image on the slide, nor change its zoom percentage, nor its rotation – but you can move the slide or its different layers within the presentation. The Locked attribute stays with each layer if it was turned on.
I think a number of menu items are not clear as to their purpose, or even how to use them. Obviously “Locked” kinda implies that the item given that attribute should be LOCKED – you can’t change it, you can’t move it, etc. I don’t use “Smart Group” either – I’ve clicked on it and tried to figure it out, but I’m not sure what it does, or what its intent is.
And looking up some of these menu items (I’m sure there are others) within the Help Guide results in nothing being found on that topic. If you search for “Locked” or “Smart Group” there’s nothing on what it’s for or how to use it.
Got it! Thanks. But it would be nice if you could really use the lock as a lock for all levels to protect a finished presentation from accidental changes. That would be a wish at the programmers!!!
