Working with Foto Magic on different devices (iMAC Intel 7 Chip and MAC Book with Apples A1 Chip) suits in absolutely different file sizes after the rendering process. When “Intel” shows 4 GB, A1 shows only 1 GB file size. Settings are equal, pictures and sound “sources” are the same. Anyone an idea?
Hi @radipl That is very interesting. My guess is that the M1 chip has a more efficient H.264 compression engine that allows for better compression using the same time. When FotoMagico renders a video, we hand off the responsibility for the best settings to MacOS that decides what settings to use unless you specifically change the settings. It’s possible that on the M1 the default settings for the codec are different form the iMac with Intel. It is also possible that this is due to different MacOS versions. Are they the same for both computers?
