It has been quite awhile since I have used FM. So I don’t recall if I have to be sure that the aspect ratio of the photos (in my case, 16:9) must be applied to the photos prior to adding them to FM. Logically that makes sense; but I wanted to be sure. Thank you so much for your help.

If you create a new slide show in 16:9 format and your photos are using the 16:9 ratio then they should import correctly. Before importing you should probably check the menu item “Slideshow > Animation Assistant…” You always have the option of importing images to either “Fit to Stage” or “Fill Stage” – so even if the photos are NOT 16:9, those settings will adjust for that. “Fit to Stage” would create a black border either on the top/bottom edges or on the left/right edges, using the longest dimension of the image to determine the correct scaling. If you select “Fill Stage” the image will import such that the entire stage is filled, but if not in the 16:9 ratio, part of your image will fall outside of the stage, either top/bottom or left/right, depending again on the ratio.
