  • New: The Live Streaming output destination now keeps an RTMP connection log that can be viewed with the “Show Log” button.
  • Enhancement: Updated the Zoom SDK to version 7.1.5.
  • Enhancement: The Movie source now detects more reliably whether a movie file contains an alpha channel.
  • Fix: Fixed a crash in the Dual Video source that could occur while measuring video statistics.
  • Fix: The audio gain slider in the Zoom source now properly controls the audio volume of the source.
  • Fix: The Source Performance Monitor now also shows data for sources that become active after the window was opened.
  • Fix: Apple ProRes 4444 movie files created by Adobe After Effects that contain a corrupt audio block can now be played back by the Movie source.

Hi mimoLive Team,

I’d like to request an improved Full Application Capture option for mimoLive, similar to what OBS currently offers.

For example, when teaching music production using Logic Pro, I would like to select Logic Pro and have mimoLive capture everything associated with it, including:

  • The main Logic Pro window

  • Plugin windows

  • Mixer and editor windows

  • Floating windows

  • Pop-up/dialogue windows

  • Full-screen windows

  • Other secondary or hidden windows belonging to Logic Pro

At the same time, windows from unrelated applications should remain excluded. OBS provides similar functionality with its “Show fullscreen and hidden windows / applications” option.

I’ve also noticed that the current screen/window capture in mimoLive does not always look identical to the original display. Colors can appear washed out, text can lose sharpness, and the overall image can sometimes look pixelated or lower-resolution.

It would be great if the capture could mirror the original source as accurately as possible—in color, resolution, sharpness, and text quality, especially for teaching where students need to clearly see small controls, plugins, and text.

These improvements would make mimoLive much more effective for software demonstrations and teaching.

Subject: Possible Memory Leak in mimoLive Following Network Interruption During Live Streaming

Hi mimoLive Support Team,

I would like to report a serious issue I’ve been experiencing with mimoLive on my Mac Studio. I suspect there may be a memory leak triggered by a network interruption during live streaming.

I primarily use a wired Ethernet connection for streaming, with Wi-Fi disabled.

I’ve noticed that whenever my Ethernet connection experiences a brief interruption during a live broadcast, mimoLive appears to enter a state where its memory consumption increases dramatically.

During one of these incidents, macOS displayed the following warning:

“Your system has run out of application memory.”

When I checked the Force Quit Applications window, I observed the following:

  • mimoLive: 68.03 GB of memory

  • Google Chrome: 15.11 GB of memory

  • Other applications: Various amounts of memory consumption

At this point, virtually every application on my Mac became unresponsive, and macOS marked multiple applications as paused. The entire computer became practically unusable, requiring a restart.

Suspected Issue

Based on my observations, I suspect the following sequence may be occurring:

  1. mimoLive is actively streaming over Ethernet.

  2. The Ethernet connection experiences a brief network interruption.

  3. mimoLive encounters an issue while attempting to handle the interrupted streaming connection.

  4. A possible memory leak occurs, causing mimoLive’s memory consumption to increase dramatically.

  5. macOS eventually runs out of available application memory.

  6. Other applications become unresponsive, and the entire Mac Studio effectively freezes.

I cannot yet confirm that the network interruption directly causes the memory leak, but I’ve noticed a recurring relationship between network disconnections and these system-wide freezes.

Impact

This is particularly concerning because I use mimoLive for live productions, where reliability is essential.

A brief network interruption should not result in the entire computer becoming unresponsive.

Ideally, mimoLive should handle temporary network failures gracefully, allowing the streaming connection to recover without excessive memory consumption or affecting the stability of macOS.

Request for Investigation

Could your development team investigate whether mimoLive has a potential memory leak associated with network interruptions, particularly during streaming reconnection attempts?

I would also appreciate knowing whether this is a known issue and whether there are any recommended settings or workarounds to prevent it.

I have attached a screenshot showing mimoLive consuming 68.03 GB of application memory during one of these incidents.

I would be happy to provide additional system information or diagnostic logs to assist with your investigation.
