@Oliver_Boinx
Hi MimoLive Team,

First off, I just want to say I’ve really been enjoying working with MimoLive—it’s been a powerful part of my live production workflow, especially for structured shows and multi-source setups.

I have a few feature requests and improvements that would significantly enhance my upcoming productions:

1. Fly-In Text Layer (Duration Extension)

Currently, the maximum duration for text display feels limiting for longer segments. It would be extremely helpful if the duration could be extended—ideally allowing a range from 60 seconds up to 5 minutes. This would give much more flexibility for teaching segments, announcements, and on-screen notes.

2. Zoom Source – Full Participant Grid View

Under the Zoom Meeting source (Participants section), we currently have options like automatic screen sharing, spotlight, etc. It would be incredibly valuable to have an additional option that allows displaying all participants simultaneously in a grid view (similar to Zoom’s gallery view).

This would be perfect for group discussions, panels, or interactive sessions where everyone needs to be visible at once.

3. Web Browser Source – Key Limitations

There are a few issues here that are affecting usability:

  • Google Meet Compatibility:

At the moment, loading a Google Meet session inside the browser source doesn’t function properly. It would be great to see improved support for this.

  • Audio Playback from Web Sources:

Audio from web-based content (e.g., meetings, media, or embedded players) should be reliably captured and routed within MimoLive.

  • Multiple Tabs Support:

Currently, the browser source seems limited to a single tab. This creates real workflow limitations.

For example, some web apps (like Bible apps or media tools) require opening a second tab to trigger audio playback—this doesn’t work right now.

It would be a major upgrade if the browser source could support multiple tabs (ideally up to 10 tabs) within a single instance.

4. Native Google Meet Integration (Similar to Zoom Source)

In addition to browser improvements, it would be a game changer to have a dedicated Google Meet source, similar to the Zoom integration—allowing direct pull-in of participants, audio, and video feeds.

These additions would greatly improve flexibility, especially for hybrid teaching, live streaming, and multi-platform engagement.

I have a live show coming up next week, and implementing even some of these features would make a huge difference in production quality and workflow efficiency.

Thanks again for the great work—looking forward to what’s next!

Best regards,

Judah Peters

Hi Judah,

First off, I just want to say I’ve really been enjoying working with MimoLive—it’s been a powerful part of my live production workflow, especially for structured shows and multi-source setups.

Thank you for the kind words and the feature requests. I’ve made a note and we will consider them for future releases.

I assume you mean the “Flying Text” layer? I would love to see how you’re using this. And, btw, have you tried the Bullet Points layer? This has been designed specifically of that purpose.

The Zoom SDK does not provide a grid view feed at this time, only the ISO feeds. If it ever does, we will certainly consider it.

However, it is pretty easy to turn this into a grid view using the Split Screen layer.

If you use the Window Capture or Screen Capture source you have the option to also capture the audio and you can use Chrome which you probably need for the maximum Google Meet compatibility. This also gives you multiple tab support. We’re using Apple’s WebKit framework for the Web Source which at this time does not have support for audio.

4. Native Google Meet Integration (Similar to Zoom Source)

In addition to browser improvements, it would be a game changer to have a dedicated Google Meet source, similar to the Zoom integration—allowing direct pull-in of participants, audio, and video feeds.

Unfortunately, Google does not offer an SDK that would give us access to the ISO feeds. It has an API for media access that is in testing and requires every participant to have a Google Cloud API account. If they ever open this up so we can use it, we will certainly consider it.

These additions would greatly improve flexibility, especially for hybrid teaching, live streaming, and multi-platform engagement.

I absolutely agree, and it would be great to have this all implemented.

I have a live show coming up next week, and implementing even some of these features would make a huge difference in production quality and workflow efficiency.

We will certainly not be able to provide you with this until next week, but you could consider using Zoom instead, which already has all of this implemented…

Thanks again for the great work—looking forward to what’s next!

Lots of great things coming up. For example, support for the Zoom Enhanced Media Mode, which would give you 1080p60, and that means very high video quality.
