So, I made the mistake of upgrading my main computer to MacOS Sequoia (15.1), thinking everything should be good by now. But of course I was immediately hit with an issue. When I go into Mimo (6.8.3), my main microphone is not working. It is there as a choice, but there is no sound coming through. In Final Cut Pro, QT, Screenflow, the mic is working fine, just not in Mimo.
I switched to my external webcam mic, and that worked fine, as did using my iPhone as a mic.
However, I did discover that after a bit of time recording, my external webcam mic went from working, to making a loud buzzing noise. Switching to a different device and back, in Mimo, fixes that. But I am not sure what to do next…
Ugh, that’s gotta be frustrating! First things first, try restarting your phone. Sometimes the simplest things fix the weirdest problems. If that doesn’t work, double-check that the microphone isn’t blocked by your case or any debris.
If it’s still not working, head to your phone’s Settings and check the Privacy & Security settings. Make sure the apps you’re trying to use with the microphone actually have permission to use it.
It might be a software glitch or even a hardware issue. You could try updating your iPhone’s software, or if that doesn’t do the trick, you might want to take it to an Apple Store or an authorized repair center.
