Is there a way to change the colour and size of the location marker (red dot)? If not, this would be a useful new feature….
Yes, you can – but it’s a global change to ALL of the location markers on the map, not individual markers.
Once you’ve inserted a map on a slide, go to the Options panel and find the “Map” section, then look for the “Waypoint Style” option. You’ll find “Fill Color” and “Stroke Color” – click on “Fill Color” and choose which color you want from the color grid. You can change the stroke color as well, and also the point size and stroke width.
But, I’d like to make a suggestion – which may or may not be easier, depending on your final goal. Instead of placing those markers from within the Map Assistant, create a text block and type Option-8 – that should display the “bullet” character. You can now adjust the size of the bullet by changing the font size, and you can change the color of the font as well. That way you can take control of EACH marker separately. And, it’s easier to move each one around on the map if you want to change its location, and you can easily add text captions, too.
