Having problems using a green screen. I cannot get a good setting which works without some overlay issues. Getting half transparency of the speaker on the top layer or some noise on the background layer. Compared with the green screen settings on a Atem mini I cannot get the same good results with mimoLive. Any advice? In short: On Atem mini I get a perfect green screen, on mimoLive with the same light setting I cannot get the same results. Is this a common problem or do I need some advanced settings in mimoLive to get the same result?
If your green screen is not evenly lit, I recommend using the “Chroma Keying Basic” filter instead of the “Chroma Keyer Pro.” The basic filter is much more robust against changes in light conditions than the pro filter. Here is some documentation on this topic: Chroma keying green screen | mimoLive®.
For a starting point, you may try the “Auto Adjust” function in the filter settings.
If you still can’t find a good setting, please post a still frame from your camera so we can help you find the best settings.
Thanks Achim. Do I have to press the Auto Adjust with the speaker visible or only the green screen visible?
You will get the best results with the green screen only. However, the Auto Adjust function tries to find the “most prominent color” in the image, so if the speaker doesn’t cover a lot of the screen, it will also be able to adjust to a blue screen as well.
Thank you for the advice. The result is much better now, not as good as with Blackmagics solution, but I can work with it.
Hi @RedDev It’s kind of puzzling why we can’t get the same quality as Blackmagic and we’re certainly looking into improving this. The other way we’re going is with the Machine Learning based Background Removal filter. That also works very well in certain use cases. Have you tried it and if so, how well does it work for you?
