FotoMagico 5 Movie import broken on M1 Monterey?

I’m using FotoMagico 5.6.14 on a 2021 16" MacBook Pro M1 Pro Max running MacOS 12.1 Monterey.

When I import an album from Photos that includes photos and videos, only the photos import - not the videos. When I manually import the videos, FM5 shows a thumbnail of the video, but when the slideshow plays, the segment with the video is black.

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi @ajb-boinx Sorry to hear about the difficulties.

FotoMagico 5 is not supported on M1.

I can confirm that playing HEVC videos on M1 on Monterey isn’t working with FotoMagico 5.

You could export the videos as H.264. On my Mac Mini M1 the h.264 videos are working.

Thanks for the information, Oliver. I didn’t realize that FM5 doesn’t support the new Apple Silicon. Your workaround is helpful; I was able to convert the videos to h.264 and get them working. Other than this, FM5 seems to be working fine on our new MBP under Rosetta. Cheers!
