It’s a very specialized request, but I think it would be cool to use quartz composer files as transitions in FM. Quartz Composer is not so hard to use and probably easy to be implemented. If FM provides the inputs of the current image, the next image and the transition-time it could easily be used within a patch.

The problem with this approach is, that QuartzComposer is only using a certain mount of pixels for a picture, otherwise it stalls. The performance of QuartzComposer drops dramatically if your are dealing with large images, so we can’t ensure the stutter free 60 fps that we have now. We are using the QuartzComposer technology in PhotoPresenter for Mac and accepting the lower output quality vs. the endless count of transitions here.
