I want to upgrade to Fotomagico 6.9.4 from version 5. Since I would only use it occasionally, I assume that I can subscribe for the month that I plan to use it; then cancel at the end of that month. Am I correct? Thank you so much.
Yes, this is correct. Please note that you need to cancel your subscription in time before the next period starts. The current running license will still work until its expiry date is reached, even if you have canceled your subscription. When FotoMagico is not licensed, it acts like a free player, so you can play back your slideshow at any time.

Achim: I have an issue that hopefully you can help me to resolve. I have about 6 slideshows that I created in FM5 about 6-8 years ago. When I tried to play several of them, I got the following message: “Slideshow is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash”. However, some of the other slideshows will still play. Since this has never happened before, I am at a loss as to how I can retrieve the slideshows.I might add that I am using OS Tahoe & OS Sequoia on my Macs. All of the slideshows were created on earlier versions of the Mac OS. Please help!! Thank you.
I understand you are referring to the standalone player versions of your slideshows. To convert these files back to a FotoMagico slideshow document, you can use the Finder’s Info Box to change their extension from “.app” to “.fms”. This will allow you to transform the standalone player app back to a slideshow document. Select the file in Finder and hit command-I on the keyboard to get to the Info Box.
Once you’ve done this, you can use the FotoMagico 6 app to open and play the slideshow. This process is free and should help you view your slideshows easily.
