What do you mean by “more depth”??
You can create layers that appear above or below other layers, and if you want to animate layers you can use a 3rd party app like Photoshop to create .png files that preserve transparency and depending on the subject, “float” above another layer.
But what does “more depth” mean in regard to your question?
