What to do when iStopMotion crashes?

I made a time lapse yesterday, stopped it and tried to export. In the process of exporting it crashed claiming lack of disk space and now I can’t open the file. Can I retrieve the time lapse somehow? Is the original file stored on a hidden tmp folder somewhere?

Is the file a rather big one and iStopMotion (or QuickTime Player) is claiming it isn’ a proper movie file? Please ask support(at)boinx.com for the Rescue tool and the instructions to recover the file.
If the file is a very small one, then the time lapse will be lost I am afraid. QuickTime writes the movie data into the file immediately once we add a frame to it, but in certain circumstances QuickTime stores it somewhere els. But those tmp data storages are trashed quickly.
