Ugh.

I have a Sony HDR-HC9. And am trying to use iStopmotion 3 since 2 will not recognize my camera at all. Is this camera not usable with istopmotion?

What is the solution for this???

I am certainly not buying Final Cut Studio Pro in order to have my 10 year old son make stop motion videos. VERY FRUSTRATING.

Apple is not delivering the required HDV codec with OS X. To decompress the HDV Frames from this camera, iStopMotion requires the HDV Codec. Installing Final Cut Pro or Logic Pro will install this codec.

We certainly discourage anyone to download the Pro Apps Codec Pack from http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1396 and bypass the Installation Verification using Pacifist from Charlessoft.
