Moderating Twitter

I am hoping to use the Twitter function but can’t find a way to moderate it. There must be a way? I want to be able to only show tweets under a # search which I approve beforehand.

Any suggestions/workarounds?

Cheers.

Currently the Twitter layer can’t be moderated, however you can search for your #tag thought. If you want to use the twitter layer for displaying a custom RSS feed (containing your moderated tweets) you will need to modify this layer with Quartz Composer. Here you can find some infos on customizing BoinxTV layers: http://docs.boinxtv.com/creating_custom_layers

That’s a shame. I don’t see the point in the Twitter layer without moderation.

Unfortunately that’s all a bit beyond my skills - is there no easier way to do it? If I create an account and retweet certain tweets can I have retweets show up? The picture isn’t a problem if it’s a (sort of) workaround.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as I expected this to have some sort of moderation in. I’m not sure too many people would trust it if they can’t remove explicit tweets from showing up!

Here you can find a description of the twitter search: https://dev.twitter.com/docs/using-search You can certainly retweet the approved tweets and search for your own account with “from:”. As you guessed correctly we only display your user icon then.

Fantastic!!! That does the job. Now - I doubt it - but is there any way to remove the RT from the retweeted messages?

Unfortunately there is no easy way to remove the “RT” text from the tweet. You will need to manipulate the Twitter layer with Quartz Composer. If you want to do this I can describe briefly what you have to do.

I’ll leave it for now - but many thanks for your help

I use tweetbot, you can copy and re-tweet without getting the RT.
