Any chance of getting an output layer that supports Apple Airplay/GoogleCast? I have a smart tv in my office that I’d love to preview my output WIRELESSLY!!!
Hi @lorcott Try this: Use MacOS Preferences to add the AirPlay Display as an additional monitor:
(Your SmartTV will show up there and this also works for Monterey. Not sure about Big Sur.)
Then use mimoLive Full Screen Playout to play to that monitor.
Let us know if that works for you.
May have misspoke here. My monitor is reached via “CASTING” via my cable box. Any thoughts or more info I can provide?
Hi @lorcott So that isn’t AirPlay?
I just played around a bit and found the following “solution”:
- Create a dummy 1920x1080 display using BetterDisplay (GitHub - waydabber/BetterDisplay: Unlock your displays on your Mac! Smooth scaling, HiDPI unlock, XDR/HDR extra brightness upscale, DDC, brightness and dimming, dummy displays, PIP and lots more!).
- Use JustStream (JustStream - Stream Local media and Mirror Mac Display) to mirror the dummy display to the SmartTV.
- Use mimoLive Full Screen Playout to send video to the dummy display.
It will show up on the SmartTV with a latency of 3 to 5 seconds, which is a big problem.
On the other hand, attaching an AppleTV and using the MacOS Screen to create an Extended Display reduces the latency to almost nothing, even via Wifi.
