I have created a slideshow which includes .avi files shot with my camera. The video plays during the slide show but once burned to a DVD they don’t. Any thoughts? Thanks.

You need to burn the DVD using e.g Roxio Toast with the “Video DVD” option. This will convert all videos to the DVD Standard.
