Is there a future to iStopMotion for Mac?

I am just wondering if there are plans for new versions of iStopMotion for MacOS or if this (great) software will be deprecated? Any Boinx official wanna comment on this?

  • @mabi99 That is a very good question. To be honest, the future of iStopMotion for Mac is currently undecided. For the last 4 years, Apple has told us that QuickTime is going to go away on the Mac. So far, iStopMotion continues to work on the current macOS. We expect to know more in June of 2018 when Apple announces the next version of macOS.

  • @"Oliver (Boinx)" Apple just announced the next macOS (10.14) at the WWDC. Can you tell us more about the future of iStopMotion now?

@"Oliver (Boinx)" I'd like to piggyback on j117066's question about the future of iStopMotion on the Mac, given the Apple announcement about the new macOS. What seems to be the verdict? Thanks!

  • @j117066 @mtmanner Thank you for your patience. Our preliminary tests with the developer preview indicate that iStopMotion will continue to work on Mac OS 10.14 in its current form. We are currently making plans for after that.
